ABC Agents Destroy Illegal Bullock County Still Operation

Agents of the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board recently located and destroyed an illegal moonshine still near the Still Crossroads Community in Bullock County. On Friday afternoon, May 2, 2014, agents demolished an 8-barrel still and seized nearly 25 gallons of illegal moonshine.

The still was found in the woods off of Pike County Road 6600, just inside the Bullock County line. Agents found the homemade still, bags of sugar, grain, and 23.5 gallons of moonshine. Although, no arrests were made at the scene, the investigation is continuing.

The agents are part of the ABC Board’s Moonshine Task Force that investigates tips, develops leads, and are skilled in tracking and following trails that are often associated with this type of illegal operation. The mission and results of the Moonshine Task Force were recently featured by several media outlets, including The Montgomery Advertiser (05/05/2014) and al.com (04/27/2014).

Anyone with any information about this Bullock County still or any other illegal activity is encouraged to call the ABC Board Hotline at 1-800-327-7341.
