Agents Destroy Third Illegal Bullock County Still Since March
Agents of the
Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board late yesterday located and destroyed another
illegal moonshine still near the Still Crossroads Community in Bullock County. ABC Agents, assigned to the Moonshine Task
Force, located the 24-barrel still hidden in a wooded area along Highway 14,
just north of Still Crossroads. It is the second illegal moonshine operation
found near the rural community this month and the third Bullock County still destroyed
watching local roadways and working leads, found the still, along with empty
bags of sugar, grain and other paraphernalia. Each of the 24 barrels connected
to the still were full of mash, but no finished moonshine was seized. Although,
no arrests were made at this time, the investigation is continuing.
The agents are
part of the ABC Board’s Moonshine Task Force that investigates tips, develops
leads, and are skilled in tracking and following trails that are often
associated with this type of illegal operation.
